Hope it helps!

Day 164 of 365: Destroyer of Hopes and Dreams

I know the title of today's post is kind of intense, but once you watch the video below, you will understand what it's all about.
On another note, somewhat related, today's video illustrated the versatility of the yoke.  I used to think that the yoke had only one purpose - yoke walks.  But, I've recently started using the yoke more and have discovered that the uses for this contraption are only limited by the imagination.
If anyone out there is looking for a new apparatus to throw at their clients or use for themselves, I would highly recommend purchasing a yoke.  When you've done that, then you should try these wicked yoke drivers!
Again, I've posted a video of Mr. Elliott Schrok getting his first introduction to the yoke driver!  He has a rude awakening, which I narrate in the video.
Pretty funny!

Good  Work, Elliott!!!

HEART For Days!

While you and I went through our normal relaxed weekend activities, 3 men from CrossFit Central took on an EPIC challenge - THE Leadville 100.  As the name implies, the race takes place in Leadville, CO, and yes, the distance is 100 miles!  Here's a little more about the race...

An illustration of the elevation changes
Leadville Trail 100 Ultramarathon (aka The Race Across The Sky or the LT100) is an ultramarathon held annually on trails and dirt roads near Leadville, Colorado, through the heart of the Rocky Mountains. First run in 1983, runners in the race climb and descend 15,600 feet (4,800 m), with elevations ranging between 9,200-12,620 feet. It is common for less than half the starters to complete the race within the 30 hour time limit.

Kris Kepler, Elliott Schrok, and Zac Hughes all showed amazing heart, and had an entire community inspired and completely enveloped by every stride and checkpoint.  A huge congrats to these 3 amazing men, and a special shout out to Kris Kepler for finishing the race in 29:39:11!!!!  Here's his finish...

LEAD FROM THE FRONT - DEDICATION

Some of you may have already seen the latest SICFIT production starring yours truly, entitled, "Lead From the Front".  The idea for the video came about one day after a CC staff meeting where the topic of discussion was "purpose".  This is to say, what is your life's purpose?  For many this is an extremely difficult question to answer, and it's made more difficult when you have to "get real" with yourself on such a deep level, and ask the tough questions.  For me, it was not too painful.  I guess I am lucky in the regard that my discovery and immersion into CrossFit and the CrossFit community and lifestyle has always given me the feeling like I was home.  Work has never really felt like work to me, at least not in respect to how it was described to me when I was younger.  Sure.  I have days that I struggle with, but it is truly amazing to know that when I get to the gym to train a class, small group, or individual, that my day is about to become phenomenal!
This is why I felt it necessary to show my appreciation for what I do, and more importantly, what you all, as clients, do for me each and every day!
I want to dedicate this video to all of you that bust your ass for me simply because I ask you to...To those of you that trust me to take you and your life to a higher place!
Thank you!
A special "Thanks" goes out to Elliot Schrock.

Enjoy!
